A patient tenant waits eight laggy days...sure, you allow a few days for Linden Lab's little idiosyncrasies, and then a few more days for good-natured benefit of the doubt. Howevah, aftah eight days of being stuck in Ravenglass Rental Winnipeg quicksand, and having to teleport elsewhere (like shopping WOOT!) to alleviate the lag, it's becoming a bothah (as Pooh would quip). The final test was Calla's weekend hair hunt with a full sim! (I know, I tried to teleport someone! It was awesome! *satisfied smile*) I was not unduly laggy in Callatropia, moved freely, enjoyed my hair hunt happiness.
Finally, today I arrive in-world, greeted by RavenLAG. I politely message Prokofy Neva for assistance. I was kind, I'm a real life business owner, I know how to handle these issues. I informed Prokofy of my lag issues, wondered if the rotating rental signs near my home could be moved in favor of a less lag-inducing alternative.
It was a friendly request, but Prokofy (is it coinkidink that her name is so like PROVOKify? *grins*) has taken great liberty to slander and misquote me on her blog, Second Thoughts. I was never rude, as she states about the initial conversation, and as evidenced by the actual (partial) conversation that she pasted into her post. I'm not worried about Prokofy's slander--those who know my character will know the truth. The best proof is watching Prokofy go OFF on me and say I'm a LIAR because I have a complaint about her sim's lag?!? (That's pure comedy!) Doesn't she know I have bettah things to do than request help with RavenLAG? Like shopping! *giggles*
I continued being nice after she berated me (prior to the quote listed on her site.) I thought it was over at this point (here's me...resigned to RavenLAG):

I would suggest you go up north to the newest sims with nothing on them, or go to, say, Ravenglass Realm, one of our class five island sims, and see if you have the same problems on sims like that, before buying!

Prokofy is the biggest whiner I've ever had to deal with, when she was a renter over on Block Island. I wouldn't want to deal with her attitude and you are better off being somewhere else. And there are a lot of places on SL to rent.

First off, this is a stupid thing to be arguing about. Lag is different for everyone according to their connection speed and what kind of computer they run. The lag might even be serverside, in which case, it's not the landlord's issue but Linden Lab's, however, the landlord can *contact* LL (Prok has enough contacts) and attempt to fix it.
Secondly, Prok is batshit crazy. Arguing with her is like yelling at a parrot.

I've had the unhappy experience of renting with Prokofy Neva once. Once and never more! That creature is pure rudeness and provides no help service whatsoever. Please go live somewhere else! I cannot believe she still has customers!

Thanks Myllie! Yes, she's a bit shocking to deal with, and a bit paranoid/defensive about her sim lag. LOL Oh well, laughing it off...and moving to another sim. ;o) I've rented in a lot of sims, never had anything like that happen. I pity her tenants. Next post, fashTastic and fun! Oh, I rented from Ravenglass a while back, it was vile. The place itself was lovely, I was quite enchanted by it, but whenever I had issues, which I did a few times, Prokofy was minimally helpful. I was /fairly/ new at the time and was no expert in things related to housing, and she treated me like that was entirely my fault for being stupid, or something, and yeah, the lag, oh GOD the lag. Plus, that cow clearly has no sense of humour, and because of it we got several rather annoying griefer attacks on the land. Blaaah.

Well I have never had the displeasure of renting from someone like Prokofy, the homes I have rented the "landlords" have always dealt with my problems straight away and withouth argument. Honestly I am suprised she actually has any tennants if that is her tude! Heck skin tell her to take a running jump I would rather live in a cardboard box than have to deal with that crap.. and for the record I visited your house on several occassions and everytime i did i had to stand/sit still and cam the place cause i couldnt move straight for toffee!

Anyone who has admin a sim for five minutes knows rotations scripts, visitor counters, security orbs, all that crap will turn your sim into syrup. Sorry you had such a bad experience, she's way down the river of denial. I'm glad I don't treat my tenants like that.
